The Dalkeith Singers is a large mixed choir for Dalkeith and the surrounding district and has 60 or so regular members. We sing classical, sacred and some lighter music – all for the sheer joy of singing and entertaining our audiences.

Our main concert performances are given in Dalkeith each year at Christmas time and in the spring. We also perform at other events along side other groups. These have included in the recent past St.Giles Cathedral, the Queen’s Hall and the National Museum of Scotland.

Practices are held on Thursday evenings from September to May at 7.30pm to 9.30pm in St Nicholas Buccleuch Church Hall near the centre of Dalkeith.

How to Join

The choir welcomes new members especially men and younger people. You can join by approaching existing members, by contacting the secretary (info[@] or simply by coming along to a rehearsal at the start of term. New members are accepted up to 3 weeks into each term. Auditions are not required for new members, but our conductor, Jessica Leary, will gladly hear you sing if you are unsure which section you should sing in.

The current membership fees per term are £40 payable in January and September to the Treasurer.

COVID-19 update

In light of the current Government guidelines regarding COVID-19, the Dalkeith Singers have cancelled rehearsals until further notice. The website will be updated as more recommendations are issued.
